BOLINGBROOK, IL- (November 19, 2003) -RC2 Corporation
was honored with over fifty awards from toy industry experts,
child development professionals and parenting magazines
in 2003 bringing their lifetime total to over four hundred.
The awards, spread out among RC2 Corporation's many brands,
demonstrate the company's dedication to producing quality
products that engage children of all ages and satisfy the
need to play.
Among the awards won in 2003 were three coveted placements
in NBC's TODAY Show Toy Test 2003 Winner's Circle. The John
Deere® Kids Animal Sounds Hay Ride was honored as
a top toy for toddlers, while the Madeline Storybook
Dollhouse and Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway
Sodor Rescue Team Set were named top toys for preschoolers.
In addition, RC2 Corporation won four Oppenheim Toy
Portfolio Platinum Awards, twenty-four Oppenheim Toy
Portfolio Gold Awards, three National Association of
Parenting Publications Awards (NAPPA), three Parents'
Choice Awards and Toy of the Year recognition from respected
parenting media including Parents, Child, American Baby,
Parenting, Baby Talk, Scholastic Parent & Child
and more.
RC2 Corporation's Lamaze® brand was this year's
big winner, garnering twenty-two awards. Its redesigned
infant development products included a line of Softronics
items which incorporate lights and sounds with Lamaze's
signature developmental elements. Thomas Wooden Railway
scored twelve awards this year with Madeline
close behind at a total of ten. FeltKids® picked
up four awards for their line of Storytelling Sets, Eden®
secured two awards and John Deere Kids rounded out
RC2 Corporation's winners with one award.
