Press Pass 2002 Basketball kicks off the 2002-2003-basketball season
by giving collectors their first look at this year's outstanding rookie
crop. In this year's draft there were 4 players that stood out above
the rest: Yao Ming, (7'5" center from China and #1 pick), Jay
Williams (All American and #2 overall pick taken by Chicago.), Mike
Dunleavy (Duke star and #3 pick taken by Golden State), and Drew Gooden
(Kansas star and #4 pick taken by Memphis). Press Pass is excited
to offer collectors the very first autograph cards of all 4 of these
sensational rookies! Also featured in Press Pass 2002 Basketball are
autographs from several other top 2002 rookies, selected pro stars,
and established collegiate coaches.
Press Pass 2002 Basketball offers three levels of jersey cards and
an all-new Game-Used Shoe Card. The first level of Game Used Jersey
Cards features swatches taken from top 2002 draft picks' game-used
collegiate jerseys. Included in the set are Jay Williams, Drew Gooden,
and a rare Yao Ming, Shanghai Sharks, jersey card. Additionally,
there are Pro Jersey Cards as well as Combo Jersey Cards that feature
pro and collegiate swatches on the same card. The Game-Used Shoe
Cards are a Press Pass first. They feature pieces of shoes worn
in pro games by talented young players such as Darius Miles and
Mike Miller (numbered to 40). The combined insert rate for game-used
jersey cards is 1:60 packs.
In the all new Press Pass 2002 Rookie Chase Contest, collectors
will have a chance to obtain the entire 2002 Press Pass Certified
Authentic Autograph set of all the new rookies featured in Press
Pass 2002 Basketball. The contest consists of 11 rookie chase player
cards and one field card. If the player on the front of the card
is one of the two November 2002 Rookies of the Month, the card can
be entered into a drawing to receive one of 10 complete autograph
sets.
